T.J.
Moore, an up and coming artist,
lives in beautiful San Antonio, TX. He began his journey
with wire sculpturing in late 2002 during a trip to the
picturesque islands of Hawaii. Always exploring creative
ways to express himself, he stumbled onto the idea of bending wire
during a quiet moment alone. Fueled by natural ability and
early exposure to the art of precision, he began bending clothes
hangers into simple shapes. Upon returning from Hawaii, he
replaced the clothes hangers with copper, tinned copper, and
galvanized steel wire. The more he bent the more creative he
became. Simple shapes turned into more intricate ones.

"Silhouettes" was born when copper wire was bent into
shape and finished with a spiraled based candle holder. When
the candle is lit, a shadow of the silhouette is projected to the
wall. As the silhouette dances back and forth on the
spiraled base the shadow dances as well creating the dancing
silhouette. The bookmark, ornament and shadow box, new
additions to Silhouettes, is his effort to apply his designs in
new and innovative ways. |
